Truckie Video

There are links to several truckie videos embedded in this block. The most recent come from my post on Firehouse Zen, where I have also linked the Raleigh and Seattle Fire Department collaboration on their tiller training project in the wake of their rollover from a few years ago.Another great truckie video was sent to me by my dad (or my brother, can't remember who):

Inside the Ladder Shop at the San Francisco Fire Department from AdamKaplan on Vimeo.

Of course, both Webchief and Dave STAT911 turned me on to this EXCELLENT video of LAFD in 1949 showing how the truckies get it done! Check it out:

And finally, the LAFD Truckie Video:

Well, it's nice to see we're still adding truckies in here, but it's like we've got over 1300 people and we're all just standing around with a drink in our hand, looking...

I posted a new blog tonight on Firehouse Zen. Maybe someone wants to take that on, or tell us about your truck or something. By the way, we signed contracts for two new 103' quints a week or so ago. They'll be going to two of our engine companies, some of the members of which, are members on here. Care to comment?

Well, glad to have you all here- feel free to talk. That's why we are here.

Is there anybody out there?
Comment by Mick Mayers on June 23, 2009 at 9:50pm
I haven't said anything on here in a while, so just wanted to say welcome to anyone new and feel free to "friend" me if you like (on here or on Facebook). Any truckie is a brother of mine.

The fact that we are the third largest group on FFN with 1250+ people is amazing. I'm glad to see you all out there and invite you to invite more on here if you see someone missing.

We have some cool links and lots of truck-related threads, so jump in and say what's on your mind. While you are at it, feel free to hop on over and check out my blog at Firehouse Zen. It might be a little deep for the engine guys- I don't have any shiny objects on there for them - but I think there's some thoughts you might be able to contemplate while tearing through that roof deck with your vent saw.

Our department is set up as Chief, Battalion Chief, Captain, Lieutenant, FF. Hope it helps

How do other departments have their company chain of command structured? Do you have LTs, CPTs, ect.? I would like to hear from paid department members primarily, b/c I want to compare apples to apples. No offense to the Vols. Is anyone aware of any forums that discuss this? Thanks!
