In the department I belong, we have a 29 year old American LaFrance Ladder Truck. You would never know that by looking at it, and it is still in great machanical shape as well.
We have an American La France 1924 pumper. It was our first "horseless" pumper. Our oldest reserve is a 1990 E-One Cyclone. Most of our front line apparatus is 3 to 4 years old or newer.
Down Here our oldest is a 1985 Ward '79 Limited 3500 Gallon Tank 750 GPM Hale Two Stage Pump on a 6x6 Chassis.
My Dads department back home has a 1924 Ahrens Fox (First truck i ever learned to pump), a 1931 Segrave Quad and a I believe 1890 Horse Drawn Steam Engine( I could be wrong on the date)... None of these are in service anymore but they are still operational and are also housed at 2 of the cities fire houses.
Hey Dewayne & Dianna, Thank you for responding to the discussion.
Do you have any pictures of your 1976 Mack, As you may know, that
was the bicentennial year.
PS: Thank you for the invite to your friends list.
