Not to sure if there is an actuall official rule book on the bucket brigade and I've never heard of the make or break one but the muster we go to every year with the bucket brigade you have a team of 5 guys and you start behind the line run around the trough full of water once and on the second time around you grab the bucket and dip it in the water and they have a little hut with a roof and eavetrough on it and you throw the water on the roof and the water runs through the trough down to a barrel and they measure how much water is in the barrel after two minutes.The only rules they use is you cannot pass the competitor in front of you and you can not pass the line at the little hut or you get a penalty of a 1/4 inch with each penalty.
Man I hate this event damn near kills ya!
