PITTSBURGH - Firefighters responding to a house fire in Pittsburgh discovered a large marijuana growing operation next door.
Police say more than 100 marijuana plants were discovered Tuesday evening in the home in the city's Knoxville neighborhood.
Authorities say firefighters were battling a house fire just before the discovery. When the flames spread to a neighboring home, police say firefighters found the plants growing on the second floor.
Neighbors say nobody has been living in the home for months. Narcotics officers are trying to determine who was running the operation.
Investigators determined the cause of the fire was an electrical outlet. No injuries were reported.
