Hose Testing

What are you Dept's policies on hose testing? Who does it, How offen, and Why?
I work for a Company(my day job) that does it, and I want to hear what other Depts do.

We just got done testing our hose for the year, we test our own and log and track it. We also test hose for are local refinery which brings us a nice little donation every year.

Our Australian Standards require a visual inspection every 6 months, and a pressure test annually.

I have been on our department for over 34 yrs. We test our hose yearly as required. Until the last, I'll say about, 4 years we tested all of our hose with an engine and have never had a single problem with a pump. Our pumps have always passed their tests too. The one truck was 35 yrs old when we retired it and it still worked fine when it was sold.
