Fellow Firefighters, I have seen numerous videos of apparatus leave stations from "YOU TUBE" and numerous other web sites I am just trying to get a feel "What do your departments have in place for traffic devices to safely let responding apparatus get out of the station". One experince i have is a traffic light in florida at my station when the speed limit is 45 mph. The department hits the light every time and traffic stopped, but one car didnt and actually flew over the drainage ditch, missed 2 cars and hit my engine. No injuries in the accident but took my engine out of service.
