Here is what I need you to do...

Okay, you are the officer with this group on the deck/porch.

There still hasn’t been a confirmation of victims being out.  They might be, they might not be.

Another company is pulling up with four including the operator.

Make your assignments and explain your tactics.  I understand we can’t see the rear and or the B side.  But, this is fun and illustrative.

Let’s have fun with it and get your crews involved.

Stay safe and train for real.

Here we go. This is my first time trying this.
I see 4 on the deck. There doesn't seem to be much smoke from the "c" side and little flame. I would have one do a quick 360 to get a better "view" of what's going on as to whether the flame is coming through a window or the eaves. I'm suspecting a window, but that's what the 360 is for. If it is, then send 2 in to start a primary search while 2 from the incoming co. gear up for hose work. The operator and the fourth FF will set up water supply either by hydrant or right from the apparatus. By that time the hose crew will be ready for entry through the front door and the search team should be nearly out. We wait for them. Have them gear up for possible further ventillation and to check under the eaves of the steel roof in the back. At this time we'll get a report from the back as to the conditions. Gain entry and push the fire out the back( through a window or door) where it already wants to go. At this point, the FF in the back who was doing the 360 can come around and team up with the FF who layed the line and pack up and be ready at the deck/porch. Once the fire is out, check for hot spots with the TIC and do a secondary search. Clean up, pack up and go home.

At this point I would like to remind you that this is my first attempt at tactics, so please be kind. I'm learning. How did I do?
Don't know time of day hard to determine possiblly occupied...snow on the ground...Here goes..DISPATCH...16-28 on scene..I have a confirmed structure fire.. 2 story wood frame construction single dwelling with fire showing from the "C" side..unknown occupied..Going in with a 1 3/4 line fast attack mode...want another engine with manpower and tanker task force dispatched to this scene..Entry team going in the Front entrance and attack from the main structure toward the "B" side of the structure..(Burned to unburned) I want an Ambulance on scene and I want a rehab area set up to protect personnel from the elements...16-28 is acting IC....assign personnel to ladder the 2nd story(In case needed for egress for search team) and prepare to take out the windows on the "B" side when the attack team is in place(push the fire out the window with attack team)....If suspect life safety issues then set up a search team....New at this(officer) but that's what I see......Paul
Looking at this I hae three ff plus myself and an operator, with four more pulling up.

At this point we would already have secured a water supply and I woudl have done a 360 and shut off utilities. Having all four of us packed up, I would send two in to do a primary search while the other ff and I threw a ladder to the second story for egress. As ff's from the other engine came in I would have two of them pull 1.75 line from the 1st due engine and make entry to division 1. It looks like it's a kitchen fire on the c side blowing out a window. the other two from the 2nd due and the third from the 1st due would become my rit team. By this time the primary search should be done or victims found and we would be doing rescue. The fire should be a quick knock down, then overhall, secondary search and clean up. My main concern for fire spread if we don't get a quick knock is fire getting to divsion two d side from the vented window.

first time doing one of these feedback would be appreciated.

Ok-here goes.

2 lines have already been strecthed and are in operation from what can be seen in this photo. I'm sending my crew in to do a Primary Search since the report of "possible victims" has been given. Since the fire is visible at the C/D corner, my team is going to commit to a Right hand search to get to the fire area as quickly as possible for the search of that area. The additional crew that is incoming would be assigned to RIT/laddering, etc. and 1 person to horizontal ventman at this point, we have 3 crews onscene, so ops should be falling into place. Once primary search is complete, and secondary search is under way crews would be at the point of rehab and then reassignments.
Paul, not arguing or second guessing you. But why assume the IC and not pass it off to the next incoming company? If your going in fast attack, this seems to be the better call to me.
