I'd like to hear from any and all on what types of scba's you use and why. Advantages, disadvantages, how you decided. Also your view on 45 and 60 minute tanks.

Thanks!

you might also want to look at what you mutual aid or surrounding depts use, that is another key factor when deciding what pack to purchase.
Amen, lutan 1!

Once you understand the basic workings of an SCBA, they all pretty well work the same. I have used Scott, Dregar, and MSA. All of them seem to work well and have few problems. While no manufacturer can completely eliminate problems, they all seem to minimize them well.

I personally prefer to have the 45 minute bottles, but as lutan said above, as long as it has air in it, it works for me. It's all about air management. Learn to manage you air, it's a simple yet extremely important skill.

Thanks,
Absolutely.
Good thinking.
Thanks.
Thanks, Tad!
Did your committee keep any records on what criteria they used for the comparison? On what specifically was a pro or con about which gear? If so, I'd sure like to see it.
