I am taking this poll to see if other people besides me and a fellow brother in my dept. listen to hard core or metal music. So let's hear it, and if not what type of music makes you feel ALIVE inside when you listen to it.
You all can dis country music all you want. I don't like the twangy hickey stuff myself. The country I do like is more southern rock than traditional country music and not rock-a-billy. Gretchen Wilson's "Red Neck Woman" is one of my favorites. A new group called Lady Antebellum is pretty cool too and I enjoy Sugarland. I listen to Bob Seger, Three Doors Down and Nickelback. Chicago & Eagles are always good.
I like just about any type of music but I've never really liked folk or blue grass. My son is a music major in college. In our house we have a bit of everything including big bands, country, classic rock, hip hop, alternative, metal and gospel. By gospel I mean the new inspirational music that folks didn't care much for in the 70s when Michael W. Smith was a "local" talent.
When my mom passed away some people thought we were crazy when we had "I Can Only Imagine" by Mercy Me played at her funeral. It still gives picks me up when I'm drug down & sad. Casting Crowns has some really good music as well.
I listen to all genres of music...but my favorite is rock/hard rock. I really am into artists like Five Finger Death Punch, Slipknot, All That Remains, GWAR, Remove The Veil, Disturbed, Godsmack, Mudvayne, old Drowning Pool, H.I.M., Powerman 5000, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Chevelle, Stone Sour, Evanesence. I also like alot of Classic Rock like AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Topp, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osborne, Van Halen, Allman Brothers and Molly Hatchet. When it comes to Alternative Rock, I listen to stuff like Seether, Crossfade, Tantric, 10 Years, Shinedown, The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, Stone Temple Pilots, The Offspring and Sublime.
