We've recently started a Juvenile Firesetter intervention Program at my F.D. A few other area departments have similar programs. These programs are designed to intervene when a juvenile is found to be playing with fire, in the hopes that we can stop the behavior before serious damage is done. Usually children between 3 and 17 years old. I was wondering what the rest of the world is doing, and what kind of results you've had. Thanks in advance, stay safe!
We had 3 kids caught by local pd trying to set a field on fire. When we got them we showed them a video of a fire that we in our first due and then they cleaned the FH all day long
Hey Brian,
I'm on a fact-finding mission about this program to run a short article in our Volunteer Firefighter magazine, if you want to email me some details about what you folks are doing?
Thanks
Mel
We first trialled a Juvenile Fire Awareness & Intervention Program in 1987. I think it's been running virtually since then. It's apparently been quite successful If you like, I could let you have a copy of our brochure; you could make official contact with my FRS if you needed to know more.

We actually don't have a lot of cases with kids and we dont do much more than fire prevention, but this sounds like a great idea for use to look into for a program down the road. Thanks a lot Brian:)
