DESCRIPTION:The 2010 Western Juvenile with Fire Prevention and Interve
 ntion Conference entitled \"Cultivating Partnerships III: Juveniles wi
 th Fire and the Impact of Media\" will provide the opportunity to netw
 ork with and learn from a multidisciplinary staff of experts represent
 ing the fire service, education, mental health, social service, law en
 forcement and juvenile justice. Workshops and presentations represent 
 the continuum from prevention to intervention.\nGiven the increasing n
 umber of media sources and ease of accessing media by youth, it is ess
 ential for fire prevention and intervention programs to consider the i
 mpact of media on firesetting behavior. Additionally, the use of media
  to inform, educate, and intervene with youth can be a powerful tool t
 o help them develop skills, express themselves, and engage in positive
  social and civic activities. Workshops will allow participants to exp
 and their knowledge about the impact of media on youth and develop new
  ways to use media to connect with children and adolescents.\nCultivat
 ing Partnerships III is excited to offer workshops focusing on youth f
 ire prevention and intervention strategies in Indian Country. This spe
