Smithfield VFD hosted their 5th annual Truck Operations Class on March 18th thru 20th.

We would like to take a moment to thank the following organizations that helped to make the 2016 5th Annual Truck Company Operations Class a success:

- Isle Of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad ( Station 60) for providing a medic and a standby crew.
- Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department ( Station 10) for providing Quint 10 and a instructor.
- Chesapeake fire Department for allowing the use of Ladder 2 during the Sunday evolutions.
- Virginia Beach Fire Department for allowing us to use their training facility on Sunday.
- Blue Ridge Rescue Suppliers for being a sponsor and providing equipment for the class.
- Real Fire Training for being a sponsor and providing instructors for the class.
- PEB Enterprises for being a sponsor and providing equipment for the class.
- STIHL for being a sponsor and providing equipment for the class.
- Tiffany Koepke, Barbara Powell, Susan Goncalves and the ladies auxiliary for doing the lunches for the students.

We of course would like to thank Matt Verlaque ( Arlington Fire Department), Jon Hart ( Baltimore County Fire Department), John Burress ( Charlottesville Fire Department) and Chris Smith ( DCFD Fire Department) for coming down and sharing their knowledge and experience with the class. We look forward to having these guys back next year.

Most importantly, we sincerely appreciate those individuals that chose to spend their free time with us over the course of the weekend. It was a lot of fun for us to meet new people that share the same passion for the fire service. You will ALWAYS be welcomed here at " THE 50 HOUSE".
