Firefighter Rescue During Girardville (PA) Fire

Video by John Garber of a multiple alarm fire in Girardville, Schuylkill County, PA. The fire started in the basement and quickly spread throughout five homes. A team of firefighters were trapped in a third floor room when a piece of furniture fell over and blocked their exit and they began to run low on air. One firefighter was grabbed from a window while the other two were escorted out by the RIT team.

What is causing the purple flames at 4:05 minutes and around 9:04 minutes in the windows? Is it just the lighting on the video or something unusual that is on fire?
