That is just stupid on there side of trying to get a story, they should all be arrested for entering a fire scence without permission, cause if someone told them to go there they all need a kick in the behind.

"Open the E.D. door" I thoought that was only something Engine Company guys said to the Truck Company guys when they are taking to long to get the door open at a fire.

It isn't stupidity on the media's part. It's their arogance. This story reminds me of a roundtable discussion on TV many years ago. Participants included Mike Wallace (the famous news anchor), military representatives, and others. The discussion was about the media covering the war (on scene). Wallace was arguing that the media is a neutral party during a war and not "American" or a representative of any side to a conflict. Finally, a military representative simply said something to the effect that if that is true then obviously American soldiers are not required to risk their lives to save him if he is injured in a war zone. He couldn't have his cake and eat it too. He was either an American or he wasn't. The look on Wallace's face was priceless.
There are limits to the media's "rights". (Especially when they get the facts wrong so often.)

Media people do this all the time. They are safe thats good thing! Media people should have training and certification to go in the forest fire and know their safety zone and escape route too....like Forest Fire Fighters!
