Hey everybody!
I am applying to an FD in Lexington, Kentucky, (my hometown).
Their HR told me that I could take the CPAT in FL to cut down on travel expenses as I currently live in Orlando.
Does anyone have any leads regarding scheduling a CPAT outside of an application process?
I am willing to travel, and pay.
PLEASE advise.

Stay safe my brothers.

Pinellas County is moving towards making this our standard. Don't have the number but look up Pinellas Technical Education Center or PTEC in St. Petersburg. Ask for Chief Lanning. He is administering it. Good Luck.
I've taken the test in Boca Raton, and also at PBCC:

Call the phone numbers on those sites for info on dates.

As far as preparation, just be sure you're ok with 3:20 seconds of climbing stairs with 75lbs on you, then doing work for about 5-7 minutes more with a 50lb vest on. Basically cardio, and heavy lifting in the gym will help prepare. There's some techniques to help you as well, like on the last portion of the test, grip the pike pole close to your body and use you legs to push up instead of your arms. Good luck to you!
