well the best way to train is to make it as real as poss...my dept has a few broken down old houses in town that..we own and use to conduct most of our traing classes....we fill them up with smoke and the OIC places.. a firefighter or firefighters somewhere in the house tells the rit crews what is going on with the house and then has a firefighter call a mayday over the raido and then we go to work from there...i think the last rit training we had it took us 27 min. to find the firefighter and resuce him...we had to go in the first floor and then something happends and we had to end up taking him out of the second floor windown onto a pouch roof and lower him down from there

I have used many different web sites RIT.com, do a search on the web for web props for RIT training. I have also used the FFclose calls site. Let me know if you need some help I am a trainer in Minnesota, stay safe

thanks I currently use those. 3-15 im hosting a RIT class for my county. so far I have 24 of 30 students confirmed. im trying to pack as much RIT as i can in 8 hours. I have an awesome confidence sourse set up, a denver simulator, 2 acquired houses and 1 warehouse. its a logistical nightmare but so far i think its worth it.

Does anybody have any plans or ideas on how to build some traing props? I'm trying to get rit training started in my dept can anybody give me some ideas on how to do this?

Rick I hope I'm not to late but you can find some prop diagrams on the Rapidintervention.com Forum boards. You probably already know this but I'm going to say it anyway. To have solid RIT team work your firefighters have to have a solid foundation in Survival for themselves. I echo what Tim has said If I can help you I will! Best of luck.

Great Clip look up www.fdtraining.com and get yourself setup to go out and take the RIT Train the Trainer its the best choice I ever made.

I wasn't sure how to add it here, but I found a great slideshow that outlines the Pittsburgh Drill. It is in my videos on my page however for those that don't know about it or would simply like to view it. I actually searched for it on Google and it came up as a post on slideshare.net. Enjoy.

Again, I have found a video and I do not know how to post it in the group. On my page, the video is titled "High point anchor window rescue". For those familiar with the Denver Drill, I learned to use this high point anchor system in conjunction with the drill. As you will see, the video is from ritrescue and it seems that it's a bit of a promotional video for their stuff. It has been the only video that I've been able to find so far that shows this method of removing a firefighter from a window. Enjoy.
