TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Tulsa police say firefighters responding to a medical call were attacked and assaulted.

Fire Capt. Michael Baker says the firefighters suffered only minor injuries in the attack about 11:30 p.m. Sunday and each one finished the shift that ended at 8 a.m. Monday.

Police say the crew was attacked by six or seven people in their late teens to early 20s when they arrived at the home in northeast Tulsa where a woman was having trouble breathing.

Police say the attackers complained the firefighters were too slow in arriving.

The group ran from the scene as police arrived and Officer Leland Ashley says no arrests have been made.

Another fire crew and an ambulance crew treated the woman who was taken to a Tulsa hospital in serious condition.

Total BS I hope they find and arrest those who did this.
they..need to be beat like that.. there is no need for it... i am sure they got the as fast as they could.. but poeple will always think u should have been there faster
people complain because we slow their commute, complain because were loud and noisy coming down the road, but when they need us they bitch because were to slow, I hope the ones who assaulted the crew are found and prosecuted to the fullest of the law !
Thats why firefighters shuldnt run EMS! Sorry
I agree with all , but they will never find the a****** who done this . I hope they are running to MEXICO !!! LOL .Myheart goes out to the FFs and EMS crews , hang tough . So now do we need to carry guns also !!
i can just see that going wrong, me shooting a guy.. then having to save him? forget that... i wouldnt waste my time shooting him in the first place
This is pathetic! Tulsa's northside already has the rep of being the bad part of town, and the residents complain about their bad rep then some punks do this to back it up. The guys of station 19 and 24 have to worry for their lives everytime they leave the house and not just because their going to fight fire.
The people who complain always change thier minds when it is them who need the help as a firefighter/emt i have to watch out for myself and for the others who respond with me to keep us all safe as we should all do.
i hear what you are saying but don't let this make you give up your love of helping save lives.
I hope this does'nt start a trend ,I heard this mon. morning when I was getting ready to leave for my shift.
it is a shame that people r to stupid to thik straight. to attack the crew that was there to help only delayed the help even further, because the next due crew had to get there and help and the fist due had to get help themselves.
