The Backroom Crew

This is a place where we can sit down, put our feet up and chill. Where the Boys and Girls can just be themselves. The Back Room or what most firefighters call a ''day room or rec room'' is the social point of every firehouse.

OMG OMG OMG... right by my house... it is 102 F degrees here today!!! WTF !!!!!!!!!!

A 19-year-old woman was arrested in San Bernardino County for allegedly leaving her golden retriever puppy in a hot car while shopping at the mall.

The dog was left in the woman's BMW for hours with no ventilation or water during a 90-degree day in Ontario, police said.

A passerby noticed and alerted authorities, who eventually removed the dog but not in time to save its life.

The woman was arrested Monday on an animal-cruelty charge.

With the weather warming up, authorities have been ramping up efforts to warn the public not to leave pets and children alone in cars.

Thanks for the critter encouragement. I think we have 95% of the fight one - and they have either retreated... or been buried... LOL

Yes, Ernie softball is awesome and great for the kids, but you are correct a rigorous schedule to maintain.

Whoo Hoo fire school so fun... Yes, study study study - can't get it all in a class.

EMT class awesome - teleconference seems strange - but hey, take it where you can get it. I really hands-on face-to-face classes... not sure if I could be successful in that setting...

Yes, I keep looking to change jobs, and have been applying to various positions - frustrated by the job market though.

Be strong it will work out!!!

Heather- I have missed our chats as well!! With the kids having softball practice and games five out of seven nights, it has been pretty tough to sneak onto the computer lately, too...lol.

I have been pretty good here and went to my first state fire school on June 10th and 11th, that is where the pictures were from that I posted a week or so ago. Too bad each class only lasted six hours as there is so much to be learned. I took Confined Entry Training and Positive Pressure Attack, both were really cool classes.

I also just found out that there will be an EMT-B course coming up in Aug. that will take place here in town via video-conference that I am hoping to get the money scraped together to enroll in. Additionally, I am trying for a dispatch job again and have an interview with State Radio in about forty minutes.

Bill- Thank you for the coffee!!

Have a great day everyone and Stay Safe!!

ERNIE !!! How the heck are you my brother from another mother?

Oh how I have missed our chats. My gosh summer hit and my workload quadrupled - seems I never get on FFN these days.

What is up with you ???

Hi Heather!! Glad to hear that you are getting a handle on the situation.

Hi Izzy!! I was wondering if we might have needed to send USAR after you!

Hey Bill Patti and FW - you zoomed through when I wasn't looking - hope you all are well...

Hey everyone else who zooms through and did not drop bottle bombs... lol... sorry FW, had to make a little funny :) Hope no one got hurt !!!

I am making some bug progress... but like a bug... it is taking a long freaking time to get through my entire house...

and I never thought I would say it - I MISS THE DAYS WHEN MY DAUGHTERS BROUGHT HOME HEAD LICE FROM SCHOOL !!!

that was a pain in the ass - but nothing compared to this mess :( ugh

BUT... I... AM... WINNING... and those bugs and their cousins and friends and enemies and siblings and parents and anyone else that has moved in - is either moving the hell out... or dying at the murderous hand of Lady Heather !!!
