Minitor for a personal scanner?????
Do you all think it would be worth getting a II III IV orV programed for a personal scanner. The reason I was interested is because I'm always on the go and would hardly have time to listen to the scanner hooked into the wall beside my bed . I would be able to carry it if I'm at Wal Mart or at a Landscaping call or what ever.Do you all think it's worth it ?

Portable scanners will be a lot cheaper than a minitor and will give you channels to scan. Most minitors can only recieve 2 freq. My scanner is programmed to scan 12 channels.

I agree, go with a portable scanner... i got mine over at radio shack and its been great, get the rechargeable batteries, so you charge it at night, and then use it during the day... mine is great in the car, i can listen to the police(it seems they get the calls before we do), and other fire co. s outside our district (in case of mutral aid)...

i have a minitor three, and i keep it on monitor, that way i an hear all fire traffic

ok... you would know best, but you have to admit it is funny to listen to them to discribe a scene when the fire cheifs arn't there, also they also could give out good info about the call...
