If you really want it down that bad.... use a big line and knock it over. Glad he made it away safe, but back peddling would have been a brighter thing to do. Well other than not doing it at all.

My question is, what was the purpose of him even trying to knock that section of wall down? Clearly there is no need to go anywhere near it, let alone get up to it and try and push it over. Yea yea i know, its tough to criticize a video, because we dont know all the information, but really, what do you need to know? Theres a large masonry wall, unsupported in a completely burnt out house. What is the benefit of knocking it over? I just dont get it... Thank fully he wasnt hurt, but thats probably a chief (white hat), so what example does he send to his members? and to the rest of us watching this? I dont know, but it surely isnt how to conduct safe fireground operations.

If im not mistaken he is wearing a white hat and at our dept a white hat is the chief or asst chiefs. Good to show what not to do at a fire and what to watch for.

I'm loath to criticise anyone based on a video clip............so I won't.

Hoss...Good point, but it also goes to show that we are creatures of habit. When he realized he was in trouble he retreated exactly the way he went in, which is where the wall fell. Just goes to show that looking ahead for another escape route could have prevented this close call.

This poor sob is getting his manhood busted, and for the most part rightfully so. However something I gathered from watching it was his situational awareness, he wasn't posing for the cameras or not paying any attention to what was happening. The experience and training he must of received along the way to getting that white hat combined with a head that was "on a swivel" is what kept this from being a LODD that we'd be watching. Room for improvement - without a doubt! But let's try learn and not bust b*lls every time something like this comes across da 'net.

White hats kill brain cells.

Must have been the vest protecting him.

Maybe he needed a new profile pic for FB?
