How Many Departments Had Calls Related To Fireworks

I was just wondering how many departments had calls related to fireworks.
Whether it was due to fire caused by fireworks, or injuries while using fireworks.
If you didn't have any calls related to firework, I would also like to hear that as well.

Wrong coast for my FD, but here's a bad one.

OCRACOKE, N.C. – A second worker has died from injuries he suffered after a fireworks truck exploded on a remote North Carolina Island.

A spokesman for a Chapel Hill burn center says the worker died about six hours after the blast Saturday morning.

Hyde County spokeswoman Jamie Tunnell says three other workers were injured when the truck exploded as the workers prepared for the annual Independence Day fireworks display on the Ocracoke Island docks.

The men worked for Melrose South Pyrotechnics near Rock Hill, S.C. The company has sent an official to work with investigators.

The explosion was heard across Ocracoke village and a witness said it looked like 40 minutes worth of fireworks went off in four seconds.

The island is only accessible by boat and ferry.

No calls due to the use of fireworks yet! but in three hours we ran 1 carbon monoxide alarm, 1 overdose, and 2 assault victims. I know that doesnt seem like alot but 4 calls in 3 hours is very unusual for us we usually run 4 calls a week. We have had a busy day so far.

None yet...but we just got a tone out for a bonfire/brushfire....so we'll see!

We ran six calls. 5 were grass. One was a dumpster because some one had put in a firework box or roman candle that was still warm in the dumpster. Fireworks + Booze = ????? You put in your own answer.

Just one minor call. Someone's fireworks caught a small stand of brush on fire. Just a small brush fire, but was toned out as a working structure fire. Gotta love those frantic people who call 911.

i responded for mutual aid for this call and it could have been a whole lot worse. luckly the FD was standing by when it went off, by the time our trucks were brought over on the ferry everything was out and we just stood by as they got there equipment back in service.

Grapevine had a quiet fourth some of our FF'S were at our house for our pool party and we was ready to take a wet crew on scene LOL

Just after our local fireworks show that we were working fire safety for, a couple a few miles away started a small pasture fire with a bottle rocket. They were frantically trying to extinquish it as we arrived but grew too fast for that. The fire was headed for their house and needed water from our three brush trucks. They thanked us and admitted their mistake. TCSS

We responded as mutual aid for a neighboring community on the fourth. Their fireworks program takes place in a large local park and as it was concluding, one of the larger bridges across a pond collapsed with around 50 people walking on it. Luckily the pond was not very deep but everyone that was on the bridge did end up in the water. No serious injuries/deaths occured. Approx. 35 people were taken to local hospitals.

on our local TV station. I live near by Rock Hill, and it was big news here in SC.,
as well in NC. You don't normally hear of this happening when it is being handled
by professional, but just goes to show, anything can happen reguardless of how
