My F.D. had it's Centennial back in 1997. Since then I've been to several Centennial celebrations for surrounding F.D's. I was surprised to find out that some area F.D's are only 50 years old or so, some are even younger! Just curious how old everyone else's F.D's are. I'm sure there's some Departments on the east coast that are getting close to their Bi-centennial.

Lexington Fire Dept was founded in 1917, so we are 91 years old.
My fire department just turned 50
Fort Lewis Fire Dept. was established in 1917.

We were established in 1885, making Nevada one of the oldest fire departments in SW Missouri.
The city where I work became incorporated and started it's own fire department. We took over from the county December of 2006.
We are a new dept to the fire service, First fire code in the city was in 1631,First engine in the city of Boston 1653, Fire dept established in 1678.
My fire department in Skaneatele, NY is celebrating our 175th year this year. Skaneateles in southwest of Syracuse NY and the eastern most lake of the Finger Lakes.

Lewis County Fire District #18, Glenoma Fire and Aid, is the youngest fire district in Lewis County at 33 years.
