Companies from Clinton District, Triune-Halleck, Cool Springs, Granville and Westover responded to a working structure fire on 10-08-10 at Ashton Estates off of the Smithtown Road. First unit on scene Tanker 172 initiated an exterior attack and knocked the bulk of the fire down. Next in crews arrived on scene and finished the job with some interior work. The fire was believed to have started in the garage area of the house. Monongalia County EMS and Sheriff's Department also responded. There were no injuries.

what gets me is you always see it guys using a straight stream of water with my experience if you have a broken stream more like heading towards a fog pattern you can knock down more flame and the smaller drops of water takes out more heat quicker .....

they also should have started with the garage then moved up would have saved alot of time. why put out the top when the bottom us still burning and heat it up? but great job for only the two of them.

You need to known that I love volunteer FF but they really need to know what hose they carry. These FF could have put into operation one 2 1/2" line and could have done a lot more fire control then the two lines that were in use. Someone needed to go inside to check the house out as thier is fire inside. As that part of the house has already been lost, lets try to save the rest
