Woman's "Kids" Trapped Actually Cats: Sacramento, CA

Firefighters in Sacramento, Calif. arrived on the scene of a house fire with a woman saying her 'kids' were trapped inside. Turns out there was a 'couple dozen' kids trapped. But they were cats....not kids. Watch the video for the scoop.

Jeez. I love my cat but my brothers come first.
Also, I'm sorry, but I keep looking at that woman and wondering if Janis Joplin actually did die.

Wonderful. She loves her cats. Great. She needs to be slapped back into reality and realize the great stress and danger the FFs put themselves in to rescue her cats. God forbid one of the FFs got hurt or killed because they went into physical and mental overdrive to save them and she didnt reveal her "kids" are really cats. I dont know how the Chief kept his cool. She would have gotten a good tongue lashing at the very least from me. I think Gary is right. It is criminal what she did, and she need to know it. My blood boils thinking about it, because I know how my crew and myself get when the report of children trapped gets dispatched. You always tend to take greated risks when a life is at stake.

I am an animal lover too and we always did our best to rescue any pets reported, however to risk firefighters lives in this way is totally irresponsible. Every firefighter knows that some members would go against orders and put themselves and their fellows at risk when told that "there are kids in there", even when the situation is considered too dangerous for a rescue attempt. To have these guys thinking these cats were chidren when they were not is almost criminal. You can debate this as much as you like, but sorry, ...... no animal is worth a firefighters life, certainly not under these circustances.

We have 3 dogs and 2 cats, buty I wpou;d never refer to them as "kids". Imagine telling a wife/husband and his/her chldren that their firefighter spouse died trying to save someone's cats.. or birds... or goldfish,,,,

Don't get me wrong.... I am an animal lover.. but 15+ cats and others living outside? The lady in the video has "issues"....

I'm glad they were able to save some of her kids, though she might better have explained they were cats at the onset. I understand attachment to critters quite well...have 4 cats, 2 dogs and 2 horses. They are family to me.
Good clip and the message at the end was priceless! Spay and neuter!
