Before I forget...Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

Here's the question: What do you do with 9 male and 1 female 15 year old relig ed students on a Sunday night at 6:30? Subject is fire (for you Catholics we are prepping for Confirmation and were talking about the Holy Spirit). Stumped? Here's what I did - you will all get a laugh.

First, brought a huge pizza with me. Get them quiet with carbs.

Set up obstacles in the room we were in, shut down all the lights, and had them get a partner. Then had them do a drill on firefighter search and rescue. Was there screaming? No... Was there a team that found the baby? Yes... Was there trust? Yes... Partnership? Doubtful...

Then to work off more energy made them carry bags and bags of groceries that we collected for the food pantry to my car so I didn't have to do it.

Finally, let them try on my gear. At the end of the class, one kid said, "Boy I used to hate coming to CCD. Now I love it."

So was it the drill, the pizza, the walk, or the gear? I will never know. But boy was it fun!
