on thursday march 24 at 07:45 am the bergen fire dept had a multiple car mva involving 3 cars and a tractor trailer hauling fuel oil. a car blew the stop sign and hit the tractor trailer the car spun 360 degrees and hit another car and the tractor trailer flipped on its side sliding down the roadway any swiping another car up with it.they came to rest in a ditch with the car pinned under the rig. bergen was called in and they were notified that there was gasoline in the trailer and that it was leaking. they called in the genesee county haz mat team along with other departments including mine.the other depts on scene were byron, stafford, south byron, churchville, town of batavia and leroy along with caledonia and pavilion filling in in other depts. the tractor trailer driver crawled out of the wreckage with head lacerations,the lady that caused that accident suffered a broken nose from her air bag the ither car that was hit noone was injured and the car that get swept up by the semi the lady was trapped for an hour due to problems with extrication. she was finally extricated and was flown by mercy flight to strong hospital. she was concious the whole time and was talking on her cell phone.the other people were taken to local hospitals by ambulance. we were able to contain the spill and dec was on scene doing clean up before we left. we were back in service around 15:30. it was a long day and with the personel on hand and other resources it went pretty well
