July 6th started out like a regular day of me sleeping in. But the pager woke me up at about 11:02am for a Motor Vehicle Accident, Car into a Dwelling with entrapment and structural collapse. So hearing that I knew i had to go. I made my way to the firehouse, as I'm pulling in Engine Company 4611 is pulling out the door, but they waited for me, because there was only a crew of 2 on the truck. The Engine Company went enroute, with further updates givin by the medic truck on the scene confirming entrapment and minor structural collapse. As we arrived on the scene, my assignment was to pull an 1 3/4'' handline to protect the extrication crews from 3 other departments. After about 20mins of cuting and spreading the patient was extricated from the vehicle. Our Engine Company and Rescue Company remained on scene for about another 1hr to 2hrs waiting for the contractor to come and board up the home.
