The Social Network & Community JUST for Firefighters
Thanks to everyone here at the Nation...."We" Are Firefighter Of The Year!!!!!!!!!
WE DID IT! WPYX106 just called and notified me that I was voted FireFighter Of The Year, I know that that it was the support from all my brothers and sisters here at the Nation that made this possible. And a very Special Thank You to Mary Ellen Shea, aka" FASNY Training" for the nomination as well as all the PR that she put into it.
I am very proud to be able to make the claim of being a member of Firefighter Nation and this without a doubt is the biggest example of why I have that pride.
I would also like to make mention of the other people nominated, they too just as well as every emergency responder deserve consideration, as we all put our lives on the line everytime the alarm sounds.
I would also like for it to be known that one of the other entries Guy Cappuano who was the chief of the Salem Fire Dept. also here in Washington County lost his battle with cancer during the voting, there is a trust fund set up in his son's name and I am pledging $100.00 of the prize money to that trust fund.

Congratulations Jim, you are truly a dedicated firefighter, brother and friend to many, as shown buy your donation to Chief Capuano, which is why you earned the right to be Firefighter of the Year. Many think the defining characteristic about the award is the lives saved, rushing into burning buildings and dragging out the victims...Its not. Its the values you show as a firefighter, the desire you have, and the dedication to every firefighter in the family, not just yourself that makes you firefighter of the year. Im proud to be a member here at the Nation as well, and proud to have friends like you and Mary Ellen Shea. Congratulations brother on a well earned award.
