50 % meeting 24 hrs training per 30 % calls or you start over from scrach meaning you recertify

if you dont want to vol. why are you showing up to start with . we normally have a waiting list . so if your heart dont race when the pager goes off you need to stay home . let someone else get the feeling of making a diffrence. your not there for the money if you vol.

our policy is 75% if u miss 3 meeting in a role your out no matter what. and i also think no matter if your a vol or full time firefighting is not a job its a lifestyle if there not wanting to show up then there not in it for the right reason.

We have a pretty "loose" attendence policy, but it is still there.

Members must respond to 15% of alarms for the calendar year.
They must attend one drill per month, for a total of 12 per year.
They must attend all mandatory fundraisers (2-3 per year).
They must attend annual inspection and one clean up (2 days).
They must attend 5 work details.
They must attend one meeting out of every three, for a total of 4 per year.
They must participate in annual fund drive.

It sounds like a lot, but it really isn't. And people often go above and beyond their minimum requirements because of the LOSAP credits. Maybe a LOSAP program might be a way to get people involved? Or a points system for training? (If a member reaches a certain training plateau they can exchange their points for a tshirt, hat, gift card, etc).

If you have attendance policy, your not going to get anyone to show. Its Volunteer for a reason. Once people "have" To do stuff..they quit. Its how it goes.

You need to give them a reason to show. Like little 'trinkets" Like A FD Shirt, A EMS Shirt, a Hat, New Turnout Jacket, Pants, Gloves ECT.

By having a policy for people HAVING to show up, its not Volunteer anymore and its like a Job.
