Burying a Friend and a Brother

On Friday we buried a brother and friend. Driver Jarrett A. Dixon died on Saturday Jan. 12th after sufffering chest pains will working out at Station 5. I continue to realize we can go at any time, so I try hard not to dwell on petty crap. For those of us that have lost a brother or sister firefighter we truley recieve a sobering reminder that life is too short. K9 Training a 2 1/2 yom Yellow Lab

Have pretty much spent my month long vaction so far trying to get Zeus up and running on Search. This little guy is so smart, he self rewards after the find and thinks he doesn't need me. I'm just the chauffer to and from, hopefully I can get squared away before Boomer retires in January. Any constructive imput is welcome.

Reducing the Fatalities to our Brothers

It never ceases to amaze me that almost every day Billy Goldfeder has to post to the secret list another FF fatality or serious injury. Our job is dangerous, risky and what we do. I honestly thought that by this point in my Emergency Service career we would have made a difference in reducing the loss of life and critical injuries we suffer.
