cars and fuel tankers, ems, and structure fire

Well I got to notice Tuesday afternoon just what happends when a loaded fuel tanker makes one hell of a mistake. It started off around 1530 When a fuel tanker carring 8600 gallons of fuel. Tried to make a right turn off the highway and ended up hitting another 18wheeler hauling welding gas cylinders like you know oxygen, acetyone in the upright 5 foot cylinders and a few oxygen tanks in 500 pound tanks. But thank god he didn't hit the trailer and only knock the tractor for a loop when the fuel… Continue

on the road to take the test

Well I don't know how many people have been threw Arkansas when its snowing and cold, but we usually get just ice. I had to drive threw this crap for about 50 miles it took me 3 and half hours to go 50 miles. To take a written test for blythville fire department and i passed so yay! I was 20 minuets late getting there though but they let that slide considering there was an inch of ice on the highways. So I wonder which job I will take if Blytheville offers me one as well? Blytheville pays more… Continue

TO MY GREAT SURPRISE one call was from the Jacksonville Fire Department (JFD) and I about shitted myself because i really didn't expect to hear from them, so i was jumping for joy. When I called the second number thinking its probably someone else at JFD trying to get a hold of me( but i didn't realize at first the area code was different) ...... I WAS WRONG… Continue

Whats up?

Well I don't know about everyone else, but right now my fire department is doing the haunted house scene. Its kinda cool we where invited to help out at a haunted house in our district and the people running the show are donating some of the proceeds to us. I thought was kinda cool. About two months ago the new bank (well only bank in town now) donated 5 dollars to us for every account that opened with them. Which hey every little bit helps. Well we finally got our new PPF on truck its nice! a… Continue

Well last night I went and tested for a department. When I got down there were thirty guys there testing for at minimum of 3 positions. Well sitting back watching what was going on 10 guys it seemed like already new the Captain giving the test so I'm thinking shit. Now hopefully I'm just reading to much into this, but with my luck I'm probably right on the money, I know at some other departments its who you know, not what you know, but I am going to hope I am wrong, and maybe I will get a call… Continue

My wife was in the car with me and I told her to drive to the end of the drive about maybe a quarter mile long so our trucks wouldn't pass it up. I just happened to grabbed some gloves while at the hospital thank god. i come through the front door and this man's wife is panicing. I finaly found him face…
