It was a relatively slow day for FDNY till 2:19 PM when a phone alarm came into Queens dispatch that a fire was in 12-22 Astoria Blvd, Long Island General Supply (a hardware store). At 1924 HRS on Nov. 9, 1872, a fire broke out in the basement of a commercial warehouse. Hotel Vendome: Remembering the Worst Firefighting Tragedy in Boston’s History
