Why I Joined Fire/EMS
Started as a volunteer firefighter in high school and college. I tested for & took the job as a firefighter in Rochester NY. Retired from Rochester as a Battalion Chief to become the first career County Fire Chief in Cherokee County GA. 5 Years Fire Chief Stamford CT, 3 years Fulton County F&R GA. When I took the job, I never thought I would make it a life time career and get to do so many things with so many great folks all over the world.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
The dedicated people in this profession
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Safety, Safety, Safety. We need to look at why and how we do things and why we sometimes do them so unsafely for such little potential gain.
Need to develop tommorrows leaders through on going career development for every firefighter and officer.
Need to educate, market and sell for the needs of our profession everyday
Need to assure the public that our services are being managed efficiently, effectively and safely

Absolutely.
This website can be a great teaching tool, as long as the wannabees aren't dispensing their brand of questionable information that could cause the unsuspecting to get hurt.
I guess I'm a Safety Sally.
But, I HATE funerals.
