About Me:
Married with four grown children and three grandchildren, I physically can no longer participate in firefighting. I am the senior investigator for my state's attorney general responsible for Public Protection and Government Bureau investigations in the four counties of Western Mass, a territory larger than RI, more populated than VT. Investigations range from accident deaths resulting in claims against the state to consumer product safety to white collar crime.
Day Job:
Senior Investigator, Massachusetts Attorney General
Relationship Status:
Married
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
To serve and protect my community.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
This is real life.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
In my area, it is lack of staffing due to budget cuts (paid departments) and lack of day time volunteers. On the volunteer side, it is getting tough for volunteers of any hour. Many EMS organizations have disappeared to be replaced by career people covering much greater response areas. Much of Western Mass is rural.
