About Me:: im 27yo, married, with a 3yo son. I finally made the decision to follow my goals into become a firefighter. I'm taking the necessary steps to make my way into a new career. I Love to Camp! Love the outdoors. Love being active! I'm into Cycling, Fishing, Cooking, Camping, Running, Swimming, Marathons, Half Marathons, 5k's, 10k's, Adventure racing, Triathlons, Anything outdoors really. Im a Netflix fan. I have a niche for anything Indie, Documentary based, and foreign. Don't watch to much "TV", but i'm a fan of the Food network, Discovey Channel, Animal Planet. Deadliest Catch, Man vs. Wild. Anything tha makes me a beeter person, im interested in.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS: I'm currently seeking acceptance as a volunteer FF. I am looking forward to joing the Academy in 09 and taking FF1, FF2, and EMT to better prepare myself for a career as a firefighter.

I have always wanted to be in this service. For many excuses I never made the move, no more excuses. I'd rather die in the service knowing I was doing something good for others, than die of a stress induced heart attack being a corporate pee-on.

I want to make a difference in people's lives, a positive difference, no matter how big or how small. I want to help people!

Glad you decided to follow your career calling =] Finding a good volunteer department around here is getting tougher these days (unfortunately). I'm career at City of Cape Coral and volunteer for Alva (in Eastern Lee County) and got my start in the fireservice volunteering. With a good department, you can get some really beneficial training-even before fire school...
Times are tough right now, but stick with it and you should be able to land a good job...
