Why I Joined Fire/EMS
Been around the fire service for my whole life. I joined as a sophomore in high school and its been a wild ride ever since. No longer searching for that elusive career firefighter spot. Recently got on as a Firefighter/EMT-B at the Naval Base nearby....FINALLY. Regardless of if I'm a volunteer or career, its the greatest job on earth and I wouldnt have it any other way.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
being able to make a difference in peoples lives and being a role model for young kids

It's About Time!

Even threatened to go to Boston and New York a time or two. So far, I've experienced nothing but heartbreak and disappointment. Flunking interviews and bombing tests. It's been a long hard road and I won't lie when I say that there were a few times when I wanted to give up.

News from Evansville

I have finally heard from Evansville today and I placed 95th. Not bad considering there were about 400 other people there.

But they're only taking 32 people...

Yup, I didnt make the cut again. I was really hoping that I would improve over last time where I placed 81st. Oh well though, I still got Indy.

Hey, look, Boston is hiring spring of '08......

First Blog

Okay, so this may not be my very first blog...just my first one on here. Those that have been to my MySpace site know that I do blog on occasion. Just not too often.

Right now, I'm a volunteer here in southern Indiana. I've been in 7 years and I'm currently trying to go career but as some of you already know, its pretty well easier said than done. All the testing and yadda yadda yadda. Anyway, regardless of where I end up, I'd like to get in on a Truck Company (Open'er Up…

I like riding the truck more then the engine but also like riding the rescue. Usually try to hit up the truck before anything though. Best kind of work there is

They're just great; I went ahead and flipped the departments over anyway. I think it looks better.

I'm actually in SC these days; I left the Philly area in 1981 to take the job here. I guess I need to flip around the list of departments from current to first rather than first to last.
