"Yeah...I learned a long time ago to not pay much attention to all the trolls on the Statter blog...occasionally there are comments that are worth reading, but not typically."

Fire Critic replied to FFN WebTeam's discussion Driver-Only at Kentucky House Fire. How Would Your Department Handle It?
"I wasn't comparing Urban vs. Rural. I was merely helping others understand differences. I understand there is no way to tell if the people would have been viable. According to what we see in the video, it appears that the fire had been burning…"

Fire Critic replied to FFN WebTeam's discussion Driver-Only at Kentucky House Fire. How Would Your Department Handle It?
"Just to be clear...I was not being critical of the actions of the firefighters on scene (with the exception of not taking a hand tool and moving a little quicker)... I was merely making a point for all to take the time and think of how this might…"

"I would say it is steady. Like Lady said...you have to be willing to move if needed. The single most effective way of increasing your chances of getting hired is putting in more applications. I remember when I got hired. I had a file cabinet…"

bridge replied to Fire Critic's discussion Should Sex Offenders Be Firefighters? What about Pardoned ones?
"I say no, and the minute it is reported that they comitted anything sexual assult or otherwise they should be banned and then not allowed at any fire department. I have very strong views on this and many of you know why."

Captain William Frazer replied to Fire Critic's discussion Should Sex Offenders Be Firefighters? What about Pardoned ones?
"Sure Let them do the job.....IN THE LOCAL PEN. How on earth could someone even think of this. We dont even let someone in, or continue the job with a restraining order much less a felony,,but you know what, criminals sometimes have more rights then…"

Terry Mae Jones replied to Fire Critic's discussion Should Sex Offenders Be Firefighters? What about Pardoned ones?
"No!! No discussion necessary in my opinion. Fire Fighters and first responders are respected by most and treated as hero's as they should be again in my opinion. This would just tarnish the occupation"

Michelle replied to Fire Critic's discussion Should Sex Offenders Be Firefighters? What about Pardoned ones?
"We now have a convicted felon who is a child molester as the CHIEF of one of our local fire departments. Here are some links to his record. His crime was that he asked his daughter to invite a friend over for the night and when she fell asleep he…"

Rhett;
Stumbled upon your other website and read about Battalion Chief William E. Obenchain Jr., my condolences, he reads like a hell of great guy.

I loved his poem, "If you want to be a clown", while so much valuable information gets lost on FFN it think it would be a great thing to post as well as a tribute to who he was.

Cheers, happy new year and stay safe.
Jack
