I have been a Firefighter since 2001. I am from NJ where I volunteered for Iselin Fire Department District 9 and made it up to Captain before getting hired as a Federal Firefighter. I am currently the Chief of Training for the West Point Fire Dept at the US Military Academy in NY. An Instructor at FDIC, Owner/Lead Instructor for Passion in Leading and the host of Networking for Success on Fire Engineering Blog Talk Radio.
My Training:
Firefighter II, Fire Officer III, Fire Instructor III, Fire Inspector II, EMT, HMIC, HMT, Confined Space Tech., Rescue Technician II, ICS 300/400/700 as well as many other Fire & Emergency Services training and certifications.

Out there today there is triple the number of people who want the job than there are “on the job.” Over time many give up, they settle for a separate career, or they become consumed with resentment towards others who got the job. The Fire Service whether you volunteer, or career is the greatest job in the world, no matter if you either are paid or not it is a profession.
