This is our oldest rig it is is a WWII 6X6 1942 Dodge Power Wagon, started life as a ambulance during WWII, back in the 50's a couple of member bought this and turned it in to the "Grass Buggy". It holds 300 gallons of water has two boster reels and a spray bar on the front I-Beam bummper that lets us drive the truck right over the fire to put it out... And no this truck is not retired it is still in service and get make it to a fire scene at a speedy 45mph. This rig realy shines when it comes to the mud and off road there is no stopping it when it is in six wheel drive low.

Thanks Herb, not sure if I'm gonna make it there or not but at least I can put it on the calendar.

Like those Ford "C" cabs. I just recently purchased a 1972 Ford C900 / King Seagrave industrial pumper. This was our front line pumper when I started with the dept. 26 years ago. This truck was retired from reserve status Dec 31 & I am looking to retire in spring of 2011

Crown Firecoach was king of the west coast, hard to believe they are now a vintage collector apparatus. The Crown Firecoach Enthusiasts are keeping the Firecoach alive and well through their club. Many Crown Firecoach apparatus have now been saved, including the very first Firecoach built in the early 50s.
