Mr. Burchit, I think you did the right thing. How can you set a standard that everyone has to follow and not hold this person accountable? I'm sure you have clear cut standards on when you can miss certain training/drills. If this falls out of that standard then you did what was right. That person may not like it, but the others will! Sometimes it's hard to stand tall and hold others to the high level we and the public demand. Good Job. Captain Mike Wilson

any thoughts on personell not showing up to call training or meetings. i recently had to let one of ours go because of the fact.. we are a volunteer company. but my crews are very proactive they show up when they supposed to and do what needs to be done.. any suggestions on this would be appreciated.. thanks and stay safe

For those of you looking for some easy training ideas for when you are having a cup of coffee, check out this website, it is about the Take 5 safety drills. Pretty good resource, even if just for refresher.
