Thanks for the invite Mike...what are fire police, we don't have them here in Australia? the police are the police and the firies are the firies? the only ones that can direct traffice are the police...so do they have the same obligations as the police?

Mike, I was a Fire Police Captain for 11 years in NJ. When a back injury prevented me from tolerating a Scott Pack and I found being a mile from the station and not the 1st driver there anymore, I switced over to the Fire Police side.

Thanks for the invite to join the group. In Canada and particularly, here in British Columbia we don't have Fire Police. The RCMP attend the majority of calls where traffic control is required, and other such duties. However, I look forward to learning the systems instituted in the USA. Thanks Chief!

I can support Chief France on this one. Fire police tend to be the unsung heros in help managing the scene with traffic or crowd control. Always willing to stick around, sometimes long after the fire department has cleared the scene. I always give my fire police a big thank you each time I see them.

This is not something we have in my neck of the woods.
