In our mountainous district we have 2-1000 gallon tankers and for structure fires we have a mutual aid dept. that bring us 1-2000 gallon street sweeper. but we have just purchased 2- new Demo tankers. 1-2000 gallon and 1-3000 gallon tanker. This should pretty much make us self-suffient.

here is the biggest tanker 5000 gal had to add air bladers to drop to down from 6000 gal because of state driving laws, my dept has the others are 1500 gal and 1000 gal

I have yet to find "monster tankers" (3000 gal) in my neck of the woods... our tanker is 1500 Gal but it is a vaccum tanker, fills in 6 minutes! then back to the scene...

My neck of the woods is a little unusual. Our station has a tanker, brush truck, mini pumper, engine, and ladder truck. We have a nice size shopping mall and plenty of dirt lanes. Can't even call the roads really. Heck the engine won't fit on half of them. Of course we do have a few hydrants @ the mall as well as along some of the paved roads although they are few and far between.

2004 Peterbilt Tanker/Pumper. 3200 Gals

1972(I think) Brockway Tanker. 3500 Gals.

This is our tanker (3000 gal). With this and mutual aid we can put 18000 gal on the scene.
