I hope everyone will enjoy this group and add as you will. All that I ask is that the topics stay around History and Traditions of the Fire Service and that proper credit be given if known. Many of the orignal sources for many of these articles is unknown and credit goes to those who wrote them or researched them. Enjoy !!!!!

Jared, any fire equipment store should have them. If your in the New England area, theres a company called Shipman's in Ct. If they dont stock them, they could get them for you in about 2 wks.

Does anyone know anything about the BPC Fire Department in Kooskia, Idaho?  I am trying to discover if the Dept existed in the late 1940s - early 1950s.  I have come across a old British fire helmet that is supposed to have been used by the BPC FD around that time and I want to verify if this is possible.

I have never heard of British fire helmets being used in the USA but I do know that some Canadian FDs did use them pre and post WWII.
