Comment by Jim Vieira on January 28, 2013 at 12:13pm Dolph, the people who paint their trucks pink are most likely part of a widespread group called "Pink Heals". This group is made up of Firefighters as well as Police Officers supporting all types of Cancer that affect Women, Children, and Men. I say this because I belong to the Chapter in Rhode Island, these chapters are totally separated from our individual departments and the "Pink Trucks" go on a National Tour each year to different parts of the Country. The pink shirts that we wear in October and when we go to fundraising events are done with the blessing of our Department Chiefs and our local Governments......... the only ammunition they are getting is to come join us and hopefully find an end to Cancer in general. Unfortunately, there are people who are less fortunate than my wife who has been Cancer free for the last 15 yrs.
Pink Heals!
Dolph, does it really matter who is supporting? The fire service or whom ever, it all helps. Support means money, money finds the cure. The more the better. Or are you worried about who gets the credit? I do not really care about the credit just the cure.
To all those who will paint their trucks pink,
Please do not put any comments on the trucks. The color alone
shows your support in the fight against breast cancer. Too many politically correct government officials are finding ways to take away from the fire service support in the fight. DO NOT GIVE THEM AMMUNTION!
