What would your department's actions be?

Consider your department's response and actions.

Wednesday, 1000 hours

Calling party thinks everyone is out of the house, that they are at work.

What would be the initial assignment in your area?

What would your staffing be? Would mutual aid be on the initial alarm?

What would the initial size-up report be and what directions would be given to incoming companies?

Harold C. Lowther on FFN Facebook,

"First truck on scene should have been making sure no one was home. Then they should have started protecting the exposures and fighting fire. Have 2nd truck hook up water supply. And have mutual aid already in rout. You can always shut them down if not needed."

Are you suggesting an interior search without the protection of a handline to "make sure no one was home"?

With my volly FD it would be 2 engines.

4 to 8, depending on time of day.  Not unless the officer called for it depending on dispatch info.

Depends on when in the video I arrive.   It appears when the white hat arrives you have a fire pretty much confined to the garage, when the apparatus arrive you have a fully involved house that there is no chance in saving much of anything.

Fire 4 has arrived on scene at 123 Woodpecker Way, I have a heavily involved garage fire in a 2 story wood frame single family dwelling with fire spreading up and across the A side.  I am doing my 360.  Have the first engine come straight in and deck gun the fire, have the second in lay a supply line. and assist the first Engine in handline deployment.  Fire 4 is command.
