Firefighter dies after weeks of firefighting
After a week of intense work to extinguish flames in Fafe, Fire Service
Volunteers Cabo Ruivo, Lisbon yesterday suffered a tragic accident on
the A1, when returning home. The overturning of a truck fire caused the death of the second master and wounded five other elements of the corporation. The violence was such that the car was split down the middle.
The fire truck was being driven by Carlos Santos, 43, who died on the spot. Circulated in the North-South, in Aveiro, when entered into screening following the bursting of a tire. Crashed into the embankment and overturned. All the victims were projected to the outside of the vehicle. Carlos Santos's body was located about 50 meters from the wreckage.

Sorry to hear about your FF's. Our thoughts are with them and their families. My brother is a FF in Austin, Texas, Ladder Company 36. He is married to a second generation Portuguese/American. He and his son speak English, Spanish and Portuguese. He has visited Portugal several times, they love it there. His wife's maiden name was Marques. Be safe, by the way I enjoy your input. Your FF seem very well trained.
