BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Thursday morning a house fire near ECMC, turned deadly.

Six people were taken out of the home. Buffalo Fire Commissioner Michael Lombardo says, three people were unconcious. Two of them died.

Published reports say one person is in critical condition.

ECMC chaplain Kenyatta Cobb says, one person is in the trauma unit at ECMC Thursday morning. The other three victims are expected to be OK, but News 4 is still trying to confirm that.

"Others are being worked on at ECMC, except I think one is still here at the scene, and we're not privy to their condition at this time," said Buffalo Fire Commissioner Michael Lombardo.

Lombardo says that a Buffalo Police Officer and a paramedic rescued one of the victims.

Crews said they were called at 5:11 a.m. and were at the house within three minutes.

Lombardo said the fire started somewhere on the second floor of 614 East Delavan.

Neighbor Mike James says that, he was impressed watching Buffalo's bravest spring into action.

"I've just seen a heroic act by the firefighters, never in my life have I seen a fire like this up close, they got all six of the people out," said James.

With two fatalities, the victim's friends and family members took the news hard.

Lombardo says his heart goes out to the family. This is the first fatal fire Buffalo fire crews have responded to, since losing two of their own two months ago.

"We're hoping for the best for everybody else," said Lombardo.

According to Cobb, the two gentleman that died inside of this home were brothers.

Investigators at this time are looking into a cause.

A news conference is expected on Thursday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.
